Built-in question themes, explained

A tour of the question banks that ship with Daily Question and when to pick each one.

What you'll learn

The built-in themes that come with Daily Question, what each one is for, and how to choose between them.

Why themes exist

A good question depends on what you're trying to learn. The same person asked "How was today?" and "Are you running into blockers?" gives you very different answers. Themes are curated sets of questions that hang together around a single topic.

You don't have to write a question. Pick a theme and you're set.

The themes that ship with Daily Question

  • Morale. Quick reads on energy, mood, and motivation. Use this when you want a steady pulse on how your team is feeling.
  • Burnout. Workload, hours, recovery, and warning signs. Use this when you suspect the team is stretched thin.
  • Onboarding. First-30, 60, 90-day questions for new hires. Use this for cohorts joining the company.
  • Team Health. Trust, clarity, and collaboration. Use this when you're investing in how the team works together.
  • Blockers. Tactical, day-to-day frictions. Use this when you want to surface what's getting in the way of the work.
  • Manager check-in. Specifically for managers asking their direct reports about the relationship. Use this for a 1:1-adjacent pulse.
  • Culture. Values in practice, recognition, and inclusion. Use this for longer-running culture work.

Each theme rotates through 30+ questions. People rarely see the same one twice in a campaign.

Built-in vs. custom

Built-in themes show an industry benchmark next to your team's Health Score on the dashboard. Custom themes show your Health Score on its own, since the question set is unique to you.

Common questions

  • Can I see the questions in a theme before I pick it? Yes. Click into the theme on the Question Banks page to preview the full list.
  • Which theme should I start with? Morale is the safest first pick. It's broad, the questions are gentle, and you'll learn how your team responds.
  • Can I mix themes? Each campaign uses one bank. Run two campaigns side by side if you want two themes.
