What you'll do
Write a set of questions specific to your team or initiative, save them as a question bank, and use them in a campaign.
Before you start
- You need to be an Admin.
- Have an idea of what you want to learn. A bank is most useful when the theme is clear.
Steps
- Go to Question Banks in the sidebar.
- Click New bank.
- Give it a name (for example, "Q2 Re-org follow-up").
- Add questions, one at a time. Aim for 20 to 30 so people don't see repeats during a long campaign.
- Click Save.
Your bank is ready. Pick it from the question bank dropdown next time you create a campaign.
How to write good questions
A good daily question is short, specific, and easy to answer in one click.
- Yes: "Did anything block you today?"
- Yes: "How energized do you feel right now?"
- No: "Please describe in detail your current sentiment regarding the team's strategic direction."
Open-ended questions get fewer answers. Lean toward scales (1-5) and short prompts. People will answer a 1-5 question on their phone in three seconds. They won't write a paragraph.
How to keep a bank fresh
- Add questions over time. Banks aren't a one-time write.
- Remove questions that consistently get a low response rate. They're either confusing or boring.
- Reuse a bank across multiple campaigns. The Health Score is calculated per campaign so reuse doesn't muddy the data.
Common questions
- Why no benchmark for custom banks? Benchmarks are tied to specific question wording in the built-in themes. Custom questions are unique to your team, so the dashboard shows your Health Score on its own.
- Can I duplicate a built-in theme to start from? Yes. Open the built-in theme and click Duplicate as custom. Edit from there.
- How many banks can I have? As many as you want.
