What you'll do
Change a teammate's role from Member to Manager, Manager to Admin, or any direction. Access changes immediately.
Before you start
- You need to be an Admin.
- You can't change your own role to a lower one if you're the last Admin. Add another Admin first.
Steps
- Go to Members in the sidebar.
- Click the person's row.
- Click Change role.
- Pick the new role.
- Save.
The change is live immediately. If they're signed in, their next page load reflects the new role.
What changes
- Promoting Member to Manager. They get access to the Campaigns and Groups areas of the app for groups they own. They don't see other people's groups.
- Promoting Manager to Admin. They get full access, including billing and org settings.
- Demoting Admin to Manager. They lose billing and org settings access. Campaigns and Groups they own stay theirs.
- Demoting Manager to Member. They lose access to the dashboard. Campaigns they were running pass to the org's first Admin. Groups they owned are reassigned (you'll be prompted to pick a new owner).
- Demoting anyone to Member. Their dashboard access is removed. They start receiving daily questions if they're in a campaign's audience.
Anonymity is unaffected
Changing a role does not link a Member's past answers to anyone. Anonymity is built in, not enforced by role. Promoting someone doesn't reveal what they answered.
Common questions
- What if I'm the only Admin and need to step away? Promote a teammate to Admin first. Then you can demote yourself.
- Can a Manager promote others? No. Only Admins can change roles.
- Will the person be notified? No. Role changes are silent. Tell them yourself if they need to know.
